This is due to several factors that characterise Prà, an area in western Genoa: its microclimate, proximity to the sea, waterways, strong sunshine and distinctive airflow.

Why we selected it

Alessandro and Stefano's family has been one of the leading basil growers in Prà since the first half of the nineteenth century. In 2003, they began turning their basil into artisan Genoese pesto. Their production therefore spans two areas: farming, through the company “Serre sul Mare”, which grows basil in Prà, and artisan food production, through “Il Pesto di Prà”. The company oversees the entire supply chain, and its production remains artisanal to this day.

Serving suggestions

Do not heat the pesto. Reserve a little pasta cooking water and mix it with the pesto and pasta. Perfect as a sauce for trofie and linguine.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1078/5495/4833/files/rn-image_picker_lib_temp_ed699892-c60e-445d-942d-3d9ffb7dc269.jpg?v=1791999529
